Pivot table reportsNEU

The question behind this feature was easy to say and hard to answer: which product sells the most, by salesperson. In the form based builder you had to know the name of the dimension and the name of the measure before you started, and that is where the question died. The pivot table replaces the form with a spreadsheet gesture: drag the salesperson into Rows, the product into Columns, revenue into Values, and the matrix appears. It is the same reporting engine as always, with the same field permissions, and your browser still never sends any SQL.

  • Rows, Columns and Values: drag or click, and the report rebuilds itself.
  • A measure only goes into Values; a measure dragged into Rows has no meaning, so it is refused.
  • Up to three fields combined between Rows and Columns, one of them as the column.
  • A date field groups by day, week, month, quarter or year.
  • Compare with the previous period or with the same period last year, with the change right next to the value.
  • Ready made reports in 17 sections, which open inside the pivot table and stay editable.
  • Save with a name, share with your team and export the matrix to CSV.

Vorteile

An answer with nobody in between

The question leaves your head and becomes a report on the same screen, with no ticket for someone else to translate the sentence into a dimension and a measure.

A total you can trust

Whatever cannot be added shows a dash instead of becoming an invented number, so you never take a meaningless total into a meeting.

What you built is not lost

Save it with a name, share it with your team and export the matrix to CSV, exactly as it stands on the screen.

Warum Sellio

The total adds up only what can be added: rates and averages show a dash, because adding two rates does not give you a rate.

An empty cell is a combination that does not exist in the data, not a zero. In a sales table, "nothing happened here" and "zero happened" are different things.

Different currencies never add up: the engine adds the currency to the grouping on its own.

A ready made report is a starting point, not a cage: once open, everything stays draggable.

Three drags, one answer

Best selling product by salesperson is the example that became the feature. Drag the salesperson into Rows, the product into Columns and revenue into Values: every cell is the crossing of the two, with row totals, column totals and a grand total. No step asks you for the technical name of anything.

Time the way you read it

A date field does not land as a loose date: you choose to group it by day, week, month, quarter or year. And when the period matters, comparing with the previous period or with the same period last year puts the change right next to the value, instead of making you open two reports and do the math in your head.

Ready made reports as a starting point

The questions everyone already knows how to ask come written, organised into 17 sections, from pipeline and conversion to marketing, partners, retention and data quality. Each one opens straight into the pivot table, with the dataset, the grouping and the measure already translated for you. From there it is your table: drag, swap the measure, change the period.

Numbers that refuse to lie

A pivot table is exactly where a report misleads without a single error, so three truths are stated on the screen itself. The total adds up only what is additive. An empty cell means the combination does not exist, not that the result was zero. And values in different currencies never become a single total. We prefer an honest dash to a plausible, wrong number.

Anwendungsfälle

Best selling product by salesperson

Salesperson in Rows, product in Columns, revenue in Values. The matrix shows who sells what, and the column total shows the product carrying the revenue of the whole team.

Month by month, with growth

Date in Columns grouped by month, stage in Rows and the comparison with the same period last year turned on: every month arrives with the value and the change beside it.

A ready made report bent to your shape

Open the report from the section you care about, swap the column dimension, add a filter and save it as yours. The starting point saves you the tedious part without taking the result out of your hands.

Häufige Fragen
Do I need to know the technical name of the fields to build a report?

No. You drag fields and measures from the list into Rows, Columns and Values, and the report builds itself. You can also click instead of dragging.

Can I drag a measure into Rows?

No, and that is on purpose: a measure in Rows has no meaning, so the area refuses it. A measure only goes into Values.

How many fields fit in the table?

Up to three fields combined between Rows and Columns, one of them being the column. Two nested column headers would turn into an unreadable table.

How is a date field grouped?

By day, week, month, quarter or year, whichever you choose.

Can I compare with the previous period?

Yes, with the previous period or with the same period last year. The change appears next to the value.

Why do some rows show a dash in the total?

Because that measure is not additive. Rates and averages do not add up: two rates added together do not give a rate, so the total shows a dash instead of a meaningless number.

Does an empty cell mean zero?

No. An empty cell is a combination that does not exist in the data. "Nothing happened here" and "zero happened" are different things, and the table does not mix them.

What happens when values are in different currencies?

They never add up. The engine adds the currency to the grouping on its own, so each currency shows on its own line instead of becoming one mixed total.

Can the ready made reports be changed?

Yes. Each one opens straight into the pivot table and stays fully draggable: it is a starting point, not a cage.

Can I keep and share what I built?

Yes, you save it with a name, you can share it with your team, and you export the matrix that is on the screen to CSV.

Ist diese Funktion im kostenlosen Plan enthalten?

Yes, it is part of the CRM, which is free; it stays free only while the month’s infrastructure usage always stays below US$20; once you go over, you pay the month’s consumption.
