Dictate with your voiceNUOVO

Writing up a visit, filling in a ticket note or answering a long email costs far more time typed than spoken. The tempting move would be a microphone icon on every field, and the CRM would turn into a toolbar. Here there is ONE button, anchored to the field that has focus, and it disappears when the focus leaves: people who never dictate see nothing, people who do have the microphone exactly where they are writing. Click it or press Ctrl+Shift+D, speak, end with Esc, and the text lands at the cursor. The audio is deleted as soon as it becomes text.

  • One microphone, anchored to the focused field; it disappears when the focus leaves.
  • Ctrl+Shift+D dictates without taking your hands off the keyboard; Esc ends the recording.
  • The text lands AT THE CURSOR, not at the end of the field.
  • It works in text inputs and text areas: a record form, a comment, a ticket note, the body of an email in the inbox.
  • "Clean up with AI" is a second action and only replaces the passage you dictated.
  • The terminal has a microphone of its own, and the dictation waits for you to press Enter.
  • The audio is deleted as soon as it becomes text, including when the transcription fails.

Dictation comes with the CRM. Transcription is metered infrastructure usage, like call and meeting recordings: the product stays free while the month’s usage always stays below US$20; once you go over, you pay the month’s consumption.

Vantaggi

A long write-up in a minute of speech

What takes five minutes to type comes out in a minute of talking, landing in the right field, with no copying and pasting from another app.

No toolbar

One button, on the field you are in. People who do not dictate never see an extra icon on any screen.

The audio does not linger

The file is read once to be transcribed and deleted right after, including when the transcription fails. What remains is the text in the field and the entry in the audit trail.

Perché Sellio

One button that follows the focus, instead of dozens of icons competing with the content on every screen.

What lands in the field is always what you SAID, raw. Cleaning it up is your choice, and it only costs on the click.

In the terminal a sentence becomes an executed action, so dictation is never sent on its own: it lands on the line and waits for Enter.

With no transcription configured, the microphone simply does not appear. Offering a button that will not work is worse than not offering it.

One microphone, in the right place

The button is born anchored to the field that has focus and disappears when the focus leaves. If the page scrolls and the field leaves the window, it hides with it instead of floating loose. Because it follows the focus, it covers the record form, the comment, the ticket note, the email body and the fields that do not exist yet: no screen has to know dictation exists in order to offer it.

The text lands where you left the cursor

Dictating in the middle of a paragraph you already wrote puts the passage exactly where the cursor was, not at the end of the field. A space is added only when there is text before it that does not already end in a space, so dictating twice in a row neither glues the sentences together nor opens a gap at the start. Password, number and date fields are deliberately left out: dictating there produces junk.

Cleaning up with AI is a second action

Once the transcription arrives, a "Clean up with AI" button appears: it adds punctuation, capitalization and paragraph breaks and fixes obvious slips, without adding, removing or reinterpreting content, and without answering the text. It replaces ONLY the dictated passage, so whatever you had typed before in the same field stays as it was. In a CRM field, what a person said and what the machine found prettier cannot be the same thing without them knowing which one they are looking at.

In the terminal, read before you run

The terminal has a microphone of its own, because there is no ordinary field there: it draws its own prompt. And it carries one difference that is a safety decision: dictation is not sent on its own. The transcribed sentence lands on the command line and waits for you to read it and press Enter, because in the terminal a sentence becomes an executed action, and sending it by itself would make the machine act on a misheard word.

Casi d'uso

The ticket note, still at the customer site

A field technician finishes the visit, opens the ticket, presses Ctrl+Shift+D and tells what she found, what she replaced and what is still pending. The write-up lands in the note before the memory cools.

The meeting recap on the account

Walking out of the conversation, the rep dictates what was agreed straight into the opportunity notes and clicks "Clean up with AI" so the paragraph reads well for the rest of the team.

An email reply without typing

In the inbox, the body of the reply is dictated at the cursor, in the middle of the text already there, and whatever came from the template stays untouched.

Domande frequenti
Do I need to install anything to dictate?

No. The recording is made by the browser itself, which asks your permission to use the microphone the first time.

Is there a microphone icon on every field?

No. There is one button, anchored to the field that has focus, and it disappears when the focus leaves.

Which fields does dictation work in?

Text inputs and text areas across the system: a record form, a comment, a ticket note, the body of an email in the inbox. Password, number and date fields are deliberately left out, and so are read-only fields.

Does it work in the rich text editors?

No. The Documents module editor and the marketing flow email editor are not ordinary text fields and do not accept text written from the outside.

Does the text go to the end of the field?

No, it lands at the cursor. Dictate in the middle of a paragraph and the passage goes where you left the cursor.

Does the AI change what I said?

What lands in the field is always what you said, raw. The cleanup only runs if you click "Clean up with AI", it does not add, remove or reinterpret content, and it replaces only the dictated passage.

Is the audio kept anywhere?

No. It is read once to be transcribed and deleted right after, including when the transcription fails. What remains is the text in the field and an audit trail entry saying a dictation happened and how many seconds it lasted.

In the terminal, does the dictated command run on its own?

No. The transcribed sentence lands on the line and waits for you to read it and press Enter.

Is there a size limit?

Yes, 8 MB of audio per dictation. Beyond that it is not dictation, it is a recording: for meetings, use meeting transcription.

Which languages does dictation understand?

That depends on the transcription provider configured for your company, because dictation uses the same engine as call and meeting recordings. If you work in more than one language, it is worth testing a short dictation in each.

Why does the microphone not show up for me?

Because transcription is not configured and enabled for your company yet. An administrator turns it on in Settings, Integrations, on the transcription card.

Questa funzionalità è inclusa nel piano gratuito?

Yes, it is part of the CRM, which is free. Transcription, though, is metered infrastructure usage: it stays free only while the month’s infrastructure usage always stays below US$20; once you go over, you pay the month’s consumption.
