External tools in the Copilot (MCP servers)

Some providers, Vambe among them, publish their data as an MCP tool server instead of a classic API. SellioCRM connects to them as a client: you sign in to your own account, and the tools the provider publishes appear to the Copilot. Connecting is done by an administrator in Settings, under Integrations.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use tools published by another system. SellioCRM already publishes its own MCP server for external assistants; this article covers the other direction: SellioCRM connecting to a provider's MCP server so the Copilot can read and act there. The first provider available this way is Vambe, a WhatsApp sales platform with AI.

What you need

• An account with the provider (for Vambe, a Vambe workspace you can sign in to).
• Permission to configure the organization in SellioCRM: only administrators can connect or disconnect.
• The Copilot turned on for your organization, since the tools are used through it.

How to connect

1. Open Settings and go to Integrations.
2. Find the provider's card (for example, Vambe) and click Connect.
3. A popup opens the provider's own sign-in page. Enter your credentials there: SellioCRM never sees your password.
4. Approve the access. The popup closes and the card shows the connection date and how many tools the provider published.
5. Leave the switch on so the Copilot can use the tools. Turn it off at any time to keep the connection but hide the tools.

What the Copilot can do

Ask the Copilot in plain language, for example: which Vambe conversations are waiting for a reply, or create a follow-up for the contact from the last WhatsApp conversation. The Copilot picks the provider's tool, runs it in your account and answers with the result. Tool names appear with the provider's name, so you always know when an action happens outside SellioCRM.

Each tool is marked read or write. A read tool only fetches data. A write tool changes something in the provider: sending a message, creating a record. Write tools follow the same rules as any Copilot write: agents that require approval propose the action and wait for your confirmation, the daily action limit applies, and every run is recorded.

Disconnecting

1. Open Settings, Integrations, and find the provider's card.
2. Click Disconnect and confirm. SellioCRM forgets the access and the list of tools; nothing is deleted in the provider.
