Dashboard · metrics, blocks and custom charts
The Dashboard is your home screen and sums up the health of the business: metrics, pipeline, weighted forecast, today's activities and opportunities that need attention. You choose which blocks show, in what order and at what size, and you build your own charts and tables from CRM data.
The Dashboard is the first screen after you sign in, and it exists to answer, in a few seconds, how the business is doing today. It respects your access: you only see numbers from records you are allowed to reach, so the same dashboard shows a different slice to a rep and to a manager.
The starting dashboard shows, in this order: Metrics, Activities, Goals, Total pipeline, Weighted pipeline and Top opportunities. The remaining blocks, such as forecast and leads by source, are optional and you turn them on whenever you want.
Metrics and pipeline
- At the top, the cards show how many Contacts, Companies, Leads and Opportunities exist. Click any of them to open the list already filtered.
- Open value: the sum of deals that are neither won nor lost.
- Bars by stage: how much value sits in each stage of the funnel, each one with its own color.
- Donut chart: how the value is distributed across the stages.
Weighted forecast
The weighted forecast is the sum of value multiplied by the probability of each open deal. It gives a more realistic estimate than the plain sum, because it accounts for the closing odds of the stage each deal is in.
Activities and opportunities to follow up
The Today, Overdue and Open counters are links to the list already filtered, and the day's tasks are listed out: click one to open the related record. The Opportunities to follow up block shows open deals that need attention, meaning deals whose next step is overdue, shown in red with the number of days late, or deals stalled for 14 days or more with no update at all.
Customizing order and size
Click Customize to choose which blocks appear, drag them to reorder and adjust the size of each one. The layout is individual: every user has their own. Reset returns to the default and Save stores your changes.
- Width: use the minus and plus buttons at the top of the block to span 1 to 4 columns. The n/4 indicator shows the current width.
- Height: the toggle button switches between normal height and a tall block, which helps for tables such as forecast and top opportunities.
- Order: drag the block by the handle in its header. The dashboard reflows on its own to fill the gaps.
Building your own charts
- Click New chart, next to Customize.
- Give the chart a name.
- Pick the object, for example Opportunities.
- Pick the type: Number, Bars, Pie or Table.
- Pick the measure: Count, Sum or Average. Sum and Average require a numeric field, such as Estimated value.
- For Bars, Pie and Table, pick the field under Group by, such as Stage or Company type.
Common questions
- Does the chart I built apply to the team? No. It appears on your dashboard and it is yours. For shared numbers, use the Reports page.
- How do I remove a chart? Under Customize, in the My charts section, clear the checkbox to hide it or remove it to delete it.
- My dashboard looks different from a coworker's: beyond the individual layout, the content respects each person's access to records.
- I turned on almost every block and the dashboard got long: drop the secondary blocks to 1 column and keep the ones you read often at the top.
