Reusable field components

Field components are ready-made groups of fields, such as Address, Contact channels or Financial, that you apply to any object in one click. Instead of creating eight address fields one at a time on every object, you pick the component, check the preview and apply it. Fields that already exist are preserved.

Modeling an object from scratch is tiring: an address is eight fields, contact channels are five, and you repeat that on Contact, on Company and on every new object you create. Field components solve that repetition. Each component is a set of fields already named and already typed (text, phone, URL, currency, date), ready to be dropped into whichever object you choose.

How to apply one

  1. Open Settings and, in the Personalization group, click Custom fields.
  2. In the Object picker, choose the object that will receive the fields.
  3. In the Field components card, open the Pick a component list. The number of fields in each group appears next to its name.
  4. Check the preview: the system shows the fields that will be added, each with its type.
  5. Click Apply. The fields exist on the object immediately, at the end of the field list.

Available components

  • Address: Street, Number, Address line 2, Neighborhood, City, State, ZIP code and Country.
  • Billing address: the same data with a billing suffix, for companies that invoice to an address different from the shipping one.
  • Contact channels: Mobile, WhatsApp, Work phone, Website and Secondary email.
  • Social media: LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and X (Twitter), all of them as URLs.
  • Financial: Annual revenue (currency), Number of employees (number) and Payment terms.
  • Firmographics: Segment, Size and Founded year.
  • Key dates: Birthday, Customer since and Next follow-up.
  • Preferences: Preferred language, Time zone and Preferred channel.
  • Source (UTM): utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, to tie the record back to the campaign that produced it.
  • Documents & tax: Tax ID plus the state and municipal registrations.
Example: You created the Supplier object and you need a full address. Under Custom fields, choose Supplier, select Address (8) and click Apply: the eight fields are created at once. Then apply Contact channels (5) and the supplier record is ready to use without you typing thirteen field definitions.

What happens to what already exists

Applying compares by each field's internal identifier. If the object already has, say, the City field, it is kept exactly as it is, with the data it already holds, and only the missing fields are created. That makes the operation safe to repeat: applying the same component twice duplicates nothing.

Field labels are created in the language of whoever applies the component. If you apply it with the interface in English, the fields are born with English labels and those labels become data in your CRM. Renaming them after that is a job for the Custom fields screen.

Who can do this

Applying a component is a structural change: it requires permission to administer settings. The component list is simply a product catalog, identical for every organization, and it cannot be edited.

Common questions

  • Can I undo an application? There is no button to remove the whole group. The fields it created are ordinary fields: delete the ones you do not want, one by one, on the Custom fields screen.
  • Can I build my own component? The catalog is fixed. For a set of your own, create the fields manually or assemble an object from the Template gallery.
  • Does applying erase data? Never. The operation only creates field definitions that were missing; no record is touched.
  • Why does the preview show fewer fields than the number next to the name? The number next to the name is the component's total. The preview lists what will be added to this object, so fields that already exist do not appear.
