Scholarships and financial aid
Receive the aid request, analyze the family situation in a protected space, take the decision to the committee and keep the award with a full trail: renewal, suspension and cancellation are events, never a rewrite. Part of the Education vertical, optional and off until an administrator turns it on.
The Education screen gets the Scholarships block: the family request, the socioeconomic analysis, the committee with its approval limit, the award trail and the tuition simulation with the scholarship already applied.
What the system never does
The system never cuts a scholarship on its own. When a maintenance condition is not met it flags the award and warns the people in charge. Suspending or cancelling stays a human decision, with the reason recorded.
The request
Each student has one open request per cycle, so resubmitting does not create a duplicate queue. The request holds the aid type, how much was asked for and the family statement. Financial documents go into the same enrollment document dossier, with version and validity.
Socioeconomic analysis
Income, expenses and household composition live in a protected area of the database, apart from everything else. Only people with the financial aid permission see these numbers, and every read is recorded. Anyone else sees a notice, never the value.
From those numbers the system computes income per person, a need score and a need band using the methodology the school declares, and freezes the result together with the methodology version. Years later the decision can still be explained.
Committee and approval limit
The committee has a code, a quorum and a limit: a cap in percentage and a cap in amount. An award above the cap goes through the approval flow before it is recorded, using the same approval engine as the rest of the system.
The award has a trail
Granting, renewing, adjusting, suspending, reinstating and cancelling are events chained by a digital signature. Nothing is rewritten: the current state of the award is read from the sequence of events. If anyone touches an old line, the trail check points at exactly where.
Maintenance conditions you can actually check
A condition is a metric, a comparison and a threshold. Minimum grade 7, minimum attendance 75%, no conduct incidents. Free text is not a condition, because it cannot be checked.
Readings are reported on the screen and the system compares them on its own, every day. With no reading for a metric the condition stays unknown and never counts as breached: nobody loses a scholarship because data was missing.
Donor fund
The award can be paid by a fund from the nonprofit module. A restricted fund only pays for the purpose it was given for, and the system refuses the link when the purpose does not match. That is the basis of donor stewardship.
Tuition and contract
The simulation shows tuition after discounts, the scholarship as a separate line and the final installment. It is only a simulation: nothing is saved and nobody is charged. A contract already signed does not change because of a new award; the new figure applies to the next contract or amendment.
