Agribusiness · vertical overview

The Agribusiness vertical adapts SellioCRM to the cycle of an input retailer, a cooperative or a trading company: the crop season becomes the dimension that organizes the work, the grower becomes the center of the relationship, the field carries the planting plan, and the sale runs through quotes, credit, barter, grain contracts and traceability. It is optional and ships turned off: an administrator has to enable it under Settings · Verticals. This page is the map of the twenty tabs on the Agribusiness screen and explains the order to use them in.

What this vertical solves

A generic CRM sees a customer, a deal and a product. In agribusiness that is not enough: the same sale depends on the acreage of the field, the crop, the season under way, the grower's credit limit, the grain he will deliver instead of cash, and the farm's environmental and social compliance. Kept in parallel spreadsheets, the rep negotiates without knowing the customer's real potential and finance finds out far too late that the promised grain never arrived.

The Agribusiness vertical brings those facts inside the system. It does not replace the CRM: it adds to it. Pipeline, contacts, companies, activities, reports and the AI assistant keep working exactly as before. What changes is that an Agribusiness menu appears, with a single screen split into tabs, and field data starts talking to the commercial side.

How to enable it

  1. Sign in as an administrator and open Settings · Verticals.
  2. Find the Agribusiness vertical and enable it.
  3. The Agribusiness menu appears in the side navigation. Open the screen and start with the Seasons tab.
  4. If you open the Agribusiness screen while the vertical is off, you will see the disabled notice and, if you administer the workspace, the button to enable it right there. Everyone else sees the message asking them to talk to an administrator.
💡 Enabling the vertical creates no data and touches nothing that already exists. You turn it on, register a test season and turn it off again if it is not the right fit. Nothing in the ordinary CRM changes.

The map of the tabs

The Agribusiness screen holds twenty tabs. They are not independent: the first ones build the foundation the last ones consume.

  • Seasons: the central dimension, with name, crop year, start, end and stages (planning, planting, crop management, harvest, commercial).
  • Units: the units of measure your business uses (hectare, bag, ton, liter) and the conversions between them.
  • Growers: the grower, the corporate group they belong to, and the book of the agronomist who covers them.
  • Fields: the farm and the fields inside it, with declared acreage, crop and geometry on the map.
  • Potential: technology packages per crop and the calculation of potential, purchased value and gap per grower.
  • Portfolio: targets by book and season, with the coverage achieved.
  • Visits: the record of an agronomic visit with check-in and check-out in the field and agronomic observations.
  • Map: the fields drawn out and the heat map of growers by season.
  • Prescriptions: product labels per crop (rate, pre-harvest interval, re-entry interval) and the prescription validated before it is issued.
  • Pricing: price lists by season, region, type and effective dates, with price resolution by volume.
  • Quotes: the proposal to the grower, per hectare or per volume, including one generated from a prescription.
  • Credit: the grower's credit lines, collateral, exposure and the check of how much room is left.
  • Barter: inputs traded for grain, with the physical balance and the financial balance side by side.
  • Grain: grain contracts, partial price fixing and receiving with quality discounts.
  • Compliance: the environmental and social checks on the grower and the exceptional release with a reason.
  • Stock: the stock mirror coming from your ERP and local reservations.
  • Traceability: the lot, its event history and the QR code that leads to the public page.
  • Dashboard: the aggregate numbers for the season: growers, farms, fields, planned acreage, potential, purchased and gap.
  • Support: technical field cases, with problem, diagnosis and corrective action.
  • Lab: soil, leaf, grain, water or pest samples, from submission to result.

The season is a dimension, not a text field

Almost everything in the vertical accepts a season: the field plan, the potential, the book target, the price list, the grain contract, the barter and the lot. That is what lets you compare two seasons without mixing the numbers. A season is planned, active or closed, and it accepts stages that mark when planting starts and when the commercial window opens.

A quantity is always a value plus a unit

On the Units tab you declare the units you work with and the conversions between them. That heads off the classic mistake of adding bags to tons. The volume fields in the vertical store the unit alongside the number, and the field's expected yield governs the unit of the expected volume.

Example: Valley Ag registers the season Soybeans 2026/27, the units hectare, bag and ton, and the conversion of 1 ton to 16.67 bags. It registers the grower John Bertoldi, the Santa Rita Farm with 3 fields and, on field T1, 120 planted hectares with an expected yield of 62 bags per hectare. The system calculates the expected volume of 7,440 bags without anyone typing that number.

The full path, from plan to delivery

  1. Create the season and the units.
  2. Register the grower, the farm and the fields.
  3. Record the field plan for the season: crop, planted acreage and expected yield.
  4. Build a technology package for the crop and calculate the grower's potential. The system shows the potential, what they have already bought and the gap.
  5. Visit the grower, record your observations and open a technical case if a pest or a deficiency shows up.
  6. Issue the agronomic prescription with the products and rates. Validation checks the rates against the label before it is issued.
  7. Generate the quote from the prescription by entering the acreage. The lines are created per hectare, with the price resolved from the price list in effect.
  8. Check the grower's credit and compliance status before you close.
  9. Close the sale as an accepted quote, as a barter (inputs now, grain later) or through the grain contract.
  10. At receiving, record the scale ticket with moisture and foreign matter. The system applies the discounts and calculates the net volume.
  11. Create the lot, record its origin in the field and the events along the chain. The lot's QR code leads to the public traceability page.

Beyond the internal screen

The vertical has two surfaces that live outside the system. The grower portal, at its own address, lets the grower sign in with an authorized email and see their own quotes, contracts, barters, visits and lots. The public traceability page is where the lot's QR code leads: anyone with the code sees the lot's origin and history, and nothing else, with no commercial data at all.

Permissions and limits

  • Enabling or disabling the vertical is an administrator action.
  • With the vertical off, no screen or query in the vertical returns data, even to someone who knows the address.
  • Read-only users can see the tabs, but the save buttons refuse the action.
  • Each organization sees only its own growers, fields and contracts. No data crosses from one organization to another.
  • Deleting a season, a grower or a field that still has dependent records is either blocked or clears the link, depending on the case. Prefer closing the season to deleting it.

Common questions

  • Does disabling the vertical erase my data? No. The records stay stored and come back when you enable it again. They simply stop being shown.
  • Do I have to use every tab? No. Plenty of retailers run well on Seasons, Growers, Fields, Potential and Quotes alone. Barter, grain and traceability come in when the business calls for them.
  • The Agribusiness menu does not appear. Either the vertical is off, or you do not have access to the module. Ask an administrator.
