Create custom activity types
Beyond the five standard types (Task, Call, Meeting, Email and Note), each company can create its own, like "Instagram DM" or "WhatsApp", with a label, icon and color. The types show up in the picker when creating an activity and in stage gates. You can also turn the standard types on or off.
Open Settings and click Activity types. There you see the standard system types and the types your company created.
Create a new type
- Click New type.
- Give it a label (e.g. Instagram DM).
- Pick an icon from the palette or type your own, and a color for the badge.
- Check the preview and click Save. The type now shows up in the activity picker.
Standard types
- The five standard types (Task, Call, Meeting, Email and Note) cannot be edited or deleted, but you can turn them off to remove them from the picker.
- Turning a type off does not affect activities already created with it: they stay intact and visible.
💡 Custom types are also available in opportunity stage gates, so you can require, for example, a completed "Instagram DM" before advancing the stage.
