Configuration history
A chronological record of the no-code structural changes: creating, editing and deleting objects and fields, plus applying templates. It answers who changed what and when, without relying on anybody's memory.
Every CRM a team can reshape on its own carries a risk: somebody removes a field on Tuesday and, on Friday, a report comes back empty with no explanation. Configuration history exists to close that gap. Every time the structure changes through the interface, a row is written with the action, the item affected and the exact moment.
How to look it up
- Open Settings and go to the Security and governance group.
- Click Configuration history.
- Use the filter buttons at the top: All, Object, Field or Template.
- Read the list, newest to oldest. Each row carries the action in bold, the item's name, its type and the date with the time.
Recorded actions appear with their own name and color: Created, Edited, Deleted and Applied template. Item types are Object, Field and Template. The screen shows the most recent entries, with a ceiling per query, which in practice covers a good stretch of operation in organizations that do not touch their structure every day.
What is included and what is not
- Included: creating, editing and deleting objects and fields through the interface, and applying a gallery template that actually created an object.
- Not included: changes in other settings areas, such as pipelines, automations, roles or integrations. Each of those screens has its own controls.
- Not included: changes to record data. That story is told by the record's audit trail and its timeline, not by this screen.
- Not included: applying a template that merely opened an object that already existed, because nothing was created.
Limits it is honest to know about
Writing the history entry has lower priority than the operation itself: if the structural change works, it is not rolled back because the row failed to be recorded. In practice the rows do show up, but the screen is not an accounting ledger, it is a supporting trail. Beyond that, the history undoes nothing: it tells you what happened, and the fix is to recreate the object or the field.
Who can do this
Looking it up is open to anyone with access to the organization's Settings, and it only shows changes from your own organization. The data is isolated per organization, so no other company ever appears in the list.
Common questions
- Can I restore what was deleted from here? No. Use the information to recreate the field or the object on the matching screen.
- Why does a recent change not appear? Check that the filter is set to All and reload the page. Changes outside the scope of objects, fields and templates do not produce a row here.
- The list is empty: no structural change has been made through the interface since the organization was created.
- I want approval required before the structure changes: that is what change governance under Settings is for, and it turns creating or deleting an object into a request for a manager to approve.
