LinkedIn in flows and AI-personalized openers

LinkedIn joins flows as an optional, isolated channel that is off by default, with a clear compliance notice: automating actions on LinkedIn violates the LinkedIn Terms. It only becomes available after an admin accepts a responsibility term, and even then it is inert (steps are skipped) for safety. The AI opener generates a tailored first line for each lead that the next message step uses via the icebreaker variable.

LinkedIn: ready but off

LinkedIn shows up in the FlowBuilder palette with three steps: invite, message and view profile. It is an isolated channel: it stays off the critical path and never breaks a flow. By default it is off and greyed out.

Automating actions on your LinkedIn account (invites, messages and profile views) violates the LinkedIn Terms of Use and can lead to account restriction or banning. That is why the channel only becomes available after an administrator reads and accepts a responsibility term in Settings › LinkedIn (we record who accepted, when and the term version).

💡 Even when accepted and on, the channel is inert for safety: LinkedIn steps in flows are skipped (no real automation) and the flow simply moves on to the next step. It is the ready groundwork for an official integration later.
  1. Open Settings › LinkedIn and read the compliance notice and the term.
  2. Check that you have read and accept the term, then click Accept and turn on LinkedIn.
  3. Use the on/off switch to pause the channel anytime, without losing the acceptance record.

AI-personalized opener (icebreaker)

The AI opener step uses AI to write a tailored first line for each lead, from the record data and in the active language. It sends nothing: it stores the text in the icebreaker variable for the next email or message step to use.

  1. In the flow, add the AI opener step before an email or message step.
  2. Optionally, write tone instructions (e.g. casual, results-focused).
  3. On the next step, insert the icebreaker variable in the subject or body (icebreaker chip).
💡 The AI opener is metered and billed when it runs on the system key, like the other AI features. Without an AI key configured, the step is simply skipped and the flow continues, without breaking and without sending anything on its own.
