Teams (tree), leaders and the team scope
Build the team hierarchy in a tree, define leaders and use the "peers" and "team" scopes.
Teams group users and can be NESTED (one team inside another), forming the organization's hierarchy. They are the basis of the "peers" (seeing your peers) and "team" (a leader seeing their own team and the subteams) access scopes.
The team tree
In Settings → Teams the structure appears as a tree, in the style of a file explorer: each team is a "folder" colored by level and the users are inside it. Use the chevrons to expand/collapse.
- Click "+ New team" (at the top) and give it a name.
- On the team node, click + to add a user (inline search) and ✕ to remove them.
- Click the star (★/☆) next to a member to set them as the team LEADER.
- To reorganize the hierarchy, DRAG a team into another (it becomes a subteam). Drop it on the dashed strip at the top to make it a top-level team.
Leader and the "team" scope
A role with "team" scope only has a broad effect for users who are LEADERS: a leader sees and manages the records of their whole team and of the subteams below it. Anyone with this scope who is not a leader sees only their own records.
The "peers" scope
The "peers" scope shows the records of any colleague from the user's teams: a horizontal view among peers, without needing to be a leader.
Send a notice to the team
On the same page, use "Send a notice to the team": choose the team, write the message and send it, and all active members receive a bell notification. Useful for quick announcements to the team.
