Contact marketing activity and behavioral tracking
Every email open and click, form submission and consent change is recorded on the contact. See the marketing timeline, the campaigns and the consent history right on the record, and opt in to tracking of the pages people visit.
SellioCRM records each contact's marketing activity so you can segment and score by behavior. Nothing is lost: the interactions are kept on the contact itself.
What gets recorded
- Email opens and clicks on links in the emails you send.
- Public form submissions (the lead that gets created receives the event).
- Consent changes (for example, an unsubscribe from the link in an email), with the date and the source, as proof (GDPR/LGPD/CCPA).
- Pages visited on your website, when you turn on behavioral tracking (see below).
Where to see it
Open a contact or a lead and go to the Activities tab: the "Marketing activity" card shows the summary (opens, clicks, visits, forms), the timeline of events, the campaigns the person is a member of, and the consent history. The card only appears when there is activity.
Lifecycle stage and marketing contact
The contact gained two fields: "Lifecycle stage" (subscriber, lead, MQL, SQL, opportunity, customer, evangelist) and "Marketing contact". Both are segmentable like any other field, so you can build lists of who receives marketing. No fine print: SellioCRM does not charge per marketing contact.
Turning on page tracking (opt-in)
Under Settings → Privacy there is a switch to turn on behavioral web tracking, which links visited pages to a contact. It ships off (opt-in) out of respect for privacy. Email opens and clicks and form submissions are recorded either way; this option governs only the pages on your website.
How it works on your site: paste the Sellio script (the same one used for form capture, under Integrations → Website forms → embed on your site). It generates an anonymous visitor identifier (stored in the visitor's own browser, with no third-party cookie) and reports the pages visited. While the visitor is anonymous, nothing is tied to a person. When they submit one of your forms, the identifier is linked to the contact that gets created, and from then on their visits become activity on the record, feed lead scoring and power behavioral segments (for example "Page visits greater than or equal to 3").
