Convert the won proposal into a sales order and contract
When you win the deal, generate the sales order and/or the contract from the opportunity in one click. Both come already linked, with the accepted proposal amount and the business unit.
The "Proposals" block of the opportunity has a "Convert to order / contract" card. It turns the won deal into two operational objects: the SALES ORDER (tracks billing) and the CONTRACT (tracks term and renewal).
How to convert
- Close the opportunity (ideally with the proposal accepted by the customer).
- In the "Convert to order / contract" card, click "Convert to order" and/or "Generate contract".
- The record is created and the "open order"/"open contract" link appears; click it to review and complete the fields.
Where the values come from
- Amount: uses the final total of the most recent ACCEPTED proposal (already with discount and tax). With no accepted proposal, it uses the opportunity's estimated value.
- Customer: the company linked to the opportunity.
- Business unit: copied from the opportunity (to segment orders and contracts by unit).
- Order: created with status "Confirmed" and a neutral sequential number (YEAR-000N).
- Contract: created "Active", starting today, with the end date computed from the opportunity's "Contract term (months)" when provided.
💡 The conversion is idempotent per opportunity: if an order (or contract) already exists for that opportunity, the button reopens the existing record instead of duplicating it.
Orders and contracts are standard CRM objects: they show up under Sales orders and Contracts, with lists, filters, permissions (RBAC) and reports like any other object.
